Programme Leadership Tasks

« Programme Leaders home

This section is intended mainly for programme leaders and link tutors, as well as subject co-ordinators and subject leaders.  It aims to bring together the most important responsibilities of the programme leader and point you to relevant guidance.

It may not be an exhaustive list, and not all programme leaders will be responsible for all of these tasks: in some departments, certain responsibilities may be delegated such as disability co-ordinator, assessment officer, or placements leader, or a programme may cover several awards, each of which has a course leader who may need to carry out these tasks. You might also delegate tasks across the programme team.

The resources are organised so that you can access them in various ways: handbook style, with a list of key tasks; according to the strategies you will find useful to have a programme level; and by progress through the student journey. There is also a section with additional information for link tutors and others involved with collaborative partnerships.

You may find our glossary of acronyms useful.
