MMU Cheshire is calling for papers for its 4th Learning and Teaching conference, to be held on 13 September 2006 at Alsager. The theme of the conference is Innovation, Assessment and Learning.
The conference aims are:
- to and share the rich variety of innovative teaching and learning practice in our multi-disciplinary Faculty;
- to identify and debate the opportunities and challenges we face as practitioners in higher education in the 21st century
- to promote reflection and evaluation of cross-departmental, interdisciplinary approaches to learning and teaching

A new call for Fellows in Academic Practice has just been made. The deadline for applications is 5th July 2006. A Panel will convene shortly after that date, and announcements of outcomes will be made promptly. It is anticipated that Fellows will be appointed in time to commence their activities in September 2006. See the main LTU website for details and application forms. The deadline for applications for this round of Open Fellowships is 5th July 2006.

The Journal of Learning Design “aims to provide a forum for critical debate and professional exchange about models, theoretical positioning and best practice in learning design”. Not sure, from the issues available so far, how much it differs from other journals in this area, but it’s worth a look.
