HEA Seminar: Devising, creating and scheduling online tests for formative assessment and feedback: a two-staged approach (Liverpool)
University of Liverpool
10.00-16.00
(Free of charge)
The seminar aims to raise awareness of the potential of online tests for improving learning in large classrooms and offer opportunities for practitioners to share practice in this area. It will introduce a novel, two-staged online test approach that has been found to solve the issue of providing individual feedback without leading to student collusion, and without mixing formative/summative assessment. Throughout the day, participants will be able to discuss a variety of online test designs and set-ups, practise writing their own test questions and get feedback, and get hands-on practice setting up two-staged online tests on an institutional VLE.
Previous experience: The workshop is aimed at practitioners in higher education who are interested in creating, designing and managing online tests for enhancing the student experience. Previous experience with writing tests or creating online tests is not required.
40 places available on first-come, first-served basis
