Lectures and Lecturing

This resource has been produced in response to questions from colleagues, requests for staff development and the outcomes of student feedback such as the National Student Survey.

The resource is divided into sections:

You probably already do lots of the things which are recommended here, but perhaps there will be one small thing which appeals to you which you haven’t tried yet.

If you do nothing else…watch this video of Graham Gibbs talking about lecturing to large classes produced by the Centre for Learning and Teaching at Dalhousie University, Canada:

This resource has been produced with help from lots of colleagues around the University who’ve been prepared to share their ideas – thanks to everyone, too numerous to list here, but hopefully included on the acknowledgements page.

We welcome suggestions and contributions from colleagues for additions to the resource – please contact Rachel Forsyth.
