Learning and Teaching events June 2021

In the week 14 -18 June there will be opportunities to drop into a broad range of talks, presentations and activities around Learning and Teaching at Man Met and beyond. On Monday 14 there will be a global learning and teaching 'Culture Jam' with creative activities everyone is welcome to participate in, especially related to internationalisation. These events continue throughout the week. From Tuesday-Friday the UTA Festival will join with EuroSoTL Connect to feature short talks and longer panels where colleagues will be able to share ideas and reflections around teaching in the current context, both from the practical and research points of view. On the Friday there will be a range of interactive activities featuring a #creativeHE jam organised by the #creativeHE community. The Monday and Friday events are open to both students and staff.

Nearer the time we will send registered participants a timetable covering all these events - why not have a look at what is on offer and sample a bit of everything?

When COVID-19 struck, having to switch to distance or blended learning at relative short notice carried a very real risk: that educators would take the tried and tested f2f delivery style, and simply transpose it online. Same stuff, different context. The work done by the ELSE consortium contributed to a reconceptualisation of T&L to make it fit for the changed context and whose benefits will outlive the contingency of the pandemic. Join this two half-day event that will illustrate and discuss the Learning, Teaching and Assessment tools developed within the ELSE consortium, that support a digitally enhanced application of problem based and active learning methodologies.
